My Wiksten Shift Top/Burda blouse mashup. I added the sleeves from @burda_style blouse 113 from 05/2019 to the shift top and made a simple d-ring belt for a little waist definition. It looks great without the belt as well. The beautiful crisp silk/cotton blend from @wearethefabricstore has an amazing texture. It’s very special. As a sweet follower mentioned when she saw it in my stories: ‘it looks almost like a paper towel.’ My Paper Towel Top ♡. #wikstenshift #wikstenshifttop #thefabricstore #wearethefabricstore #burdastyle

Another little detail - this one done on purpose. Instead of doing a proper zipper facing I covered the zip tape and raw edge of the cf on my #intrepidboilersuit with a bias strip. Looks pretty when the suit is open. You could do a contrast. Easy and pretty, right?

Did she:A - invent a new design feature for the Intrepid Boilersuit orB - rip the back of the jumpsuit the first time she tried it on because she didn’t realise that the zipper was to short, so now she has ugly-mended the rip and hidden it behind a triangle patch?Take a wild guess.Well, the jumpsuit I started working on a couple of months ago is almost done - and I love how it turned out. Stay tuned for more. #intrepidboilersuit #aliceandcopatterns #metermeter #patternhack #patternhacking #isew #sewcialists

A quick and easy #alteritaugust project. I added loops and belt to a pair of oversize pants I made a while back. @ma_minimoi has a great belt loop tutorial. The Franken-top is a new make. It’s based on the #wikstenshift with sleeves borrowed from Burda 05/2019 pattern 113. #burdastyle #wikstenshifttop #japanesesewingbooks #japanesesewingpatterns #thefabricstore #wearethefabricstore #linen #alteritaugust2019 #sewcialmashup @girlsinthegarden @insidethehem

My take on the Akinori Dress by @wardrobebyme01. This has been on my to do for over a year. Shame on me for not making it sooner!! I adore that front insert detail. I made a few changes to the pattern. Here goes. I lengthened the skirt by 10 cm. I added sleeves. I gathered the front skirt to the waist instead of the original pleats. (Wish I had gathered the pleats in the bodice as well. Not that I don’t like the pleats - gathers would just have the skirt better). The fabric is a rather light weight viscose crepe from @wearethefabricstore. Had I chosen a crisp fabric with more hold I would have stuck with pleats all over I think - but with this drapey material I think gathers look great. I made a European size 40 but might go down a size for my next version. Naturally I’m also dreaming about making a jumpsuit hack ♡. I love how this turned out - a pretty easy and quick project (no buttons or zips). #wbmakinori #akinoridress #wardrobebyme01 #wardrobebymepatterns #thefabricstore #wearethefabricstore

As promised some more words about the Jade Dress by @stylearc. The original design is described a kaftan style dress with draw string tie just above the waist. I made some minor changes. I added a little length to the bodice to make the tie hit my natural waist. Instead of joining the separate band to the front bodice I overlapped these pattern pieces before cutting the fabric - and finished the front with bias tape. I also widened the sleeves. I cut the draw string in two and sewed the ends to a piece of elastic. The elastic piece is hidden in the casing - and feels comfortable when I pull and tie the strings. The fabric is crepe viscose from @stofdepotet. #stylearc #stylearcjadedress #sajadedress #jadedress #stofdepotet

Can’t wait to start this project. An early 90s wrap dress in structured washed viscose from @thesweetmercerie. This fabric is amazing. Now to decide which look to make. I’m thinking view D (far left) with longer sleeves. (A Zadie jumpsuit would look amazing in this fabric as well). #thesweetmercerie #vintagepattern #voguepatterns #isew #sewcialists

Blouse with pleated sleeves from @burda_style 05/2019 - worn with my vintage Butterick 4027 denim back wrap skirt. I really like the design of the blouse - but I might join the #alteritaugust with this one. It’s a bit wide across my shoulders, so I think it needs a bit of work. It’s a simple design, but we’re still talking top stitching, under stitching etc. And I still love the skirt ♡ #burdastyle #burda052019 #butterickpatterns #b4027 #butterick4027 #metermeter

Wilma wearing her double gauze ‘Top Mesange’ - pattern by @delphinemorissette. After shortening the straps a bit the top fits her perfectly. Soft, comfy and stylish. #topmesange #mesangetop #delphineetmorissette #sewingfortweens #sewingforteens #doublegauze

Swim wear for my youngest. The top is the ‘Paulette’ bikini from @ikateecouture. It runs a bit roomy. I had to take this size 12 in at the sides - and Wilma is not super skinny. She’s tall so I added a band to give the top a bit more length. This is such a great pattern with lots of different looks. One piece suit, two piece, frills, color blocking - and the instructions are amazing! The bottom is the free ‘Noelle’ panty from @mmadalynne. Just as her mum she prefers high waist panties. A very simple wrap dress with subtle puff sleeves - which are basically just dolman sleeves gathered to a band. The pattern is from @aohmagasin 04/2019. I added a couple of centimetres to the sleeves - and lengthened the skirt part by 10 cm. I also widened and interfaced the ties. Fabric is cotton from @stoffstil. #stofogstil #stoffundstil #stoffogstil #stoffstildiy #pfaffsy19 #maker #isew #sewcialists #aohmagasin #symagasinet #altomhndarbejde #stoffstil #stoffandstil

Wrap on wrap. Denim back wrap skirt based on vintage Butterick 4027. It’s a 10 oz denim in the color ‘Mist Blue’ - very light almost white blue available at @metermeterdk. Worn with ‘The Screwdriver Top’ designed by @ourlady.sewingpatterns available at @makerist_com. The wrap top has such amazing features; tiny folds/tacks on the sleeves and has a gathered front where the huge, long ties are attached. I’m wearing it tugged into my skirt but it looks great worn on top as well showing the curved front hem. The fabric is a very light weight and soft cotton with a slightly crinkled surface from @stofdepotet. The top would also look amazing in a lighter weight crisp linen. #vintagepatterns #butterickpatterns #screwdrivertop #thescrewdrivertop #stofdepotet #makerist #metermeter #maker #isew

70s back wrap denim skirt in the making. Two closures to choose from. This one will be with ties - but the tab/d-ring version looks so great as well. Oh, and the shirt is also included in this vintage gem of a pattern. The fabric is soft, washed 10 oz pale ‘Mist Blue’ denim from @metermeterdk. #etsy #metermeter #denimskirt #maker #vintagepattern #isew #sewcialists
