At @project16x we talked a lot about our beginnings and the ways they shape us now. As a child, my spare time was spent outside or with my nose in a book. I loved daydreaming about distant locations, painting pictures in my mind about how it would look, feel, and taste to travel the world. Back then, we couldn’t afford to visit those places so the great outdoors and my fertile imagination became my magic carpet. These days, I’m incredibly lucky to have visited so many places and my favorite way to explore is via human-powered travel. From the towering San Juan mountains outside of Telluride to the brilliant blue water of Lago di Braies in Italy, I’ve been racking up the miles in my @hokaoneone shoes and I can’t wait to see where they take me next. What ways has your childhood shaped the way you experience the world? Shot for @hokaoneone #hokaoneone #hoka

A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend @project16x at High Camp Collective outside of Telluride, CO. There, I gathered with a group of powerful women from different niches across the outdoor industry to have deep, difficult conversations about everything from the environment to lack of representation and what each of us, individually and collectively, are willing to risk and sacrifice in the name of a greater good. I'm infinitely grateful to everyone who showed up and the grace, passion, knowledge, and vulnerability they brought. It's given me much to think on and I'm excited to implement the things I learned. Huge shoutout to the amazing crew of humans and brands who made this possible: Amanda, Gabby, Addie, Sarah, Steph—you nourished us and created space for everything that happened while @fjallraven_na and @hokaoneone kept us cozy and dry.

In two weeks I’m heading back to Switzerland with @drawntohighplaces and I’m over the moon! We’ll explore some new-to-me places in one of my favorite countries before hopping over to the Dolomites to hike and climb our hearts out. To say I’m excited is an understatement! If you have any favorite places in either spot, I would love to hear more! #inlovewithswitzerland #zermatt

I woke to soothing strains of Bach, eyes blinking in the morning chill. A night of restless sleep due to the altitude had me tossing and turning so I was grateful to see the sun creeping through the window. Breakfast was masala tea and rice pudding, a mix of spicy and creamy delights. We checked our O2 levels one last time, then donned jackets and packs for the final trek to Everest Base Camp. Walking, even on flat ground, is a challenge at altitude. Each shuffling step feels weighted but the challenge presents many an opportunity to rest and take in the staggering views. And staggering they were. As I snapped this photo, I was overcome with emotion, namely a sense of gratitude for my body and the privilege in being able to visit this place. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry. #sheisnotlost

Hi! I’m Meghan. I like long walks in the alpine and almost anything that can be put into taco form. I lose my ever-loving mind over cute animals and I’m fierce in protecting the things and people that I love. An ENTJ/enneagram type 8, I have no qualms about speaking my mind. As I grow older, I try to do so with empathy but definitely I screw it up from time to time. I dig non-rhyming poems, reading for hours, single malt whisky, and snapping photos. Your turn! What’s your jam these days? What’s grinding your gears or bringing you joy? I want to know!Shoutout to my lovely friend @natebbrown for the picture and @powersprovisions for my hat!

Last night I had a dream that Matt and I moved to the Tombstones to start a popsicle and coffee shop for weary travelers making their way along the Dempster Highway. I’ll be honest: I was pretty sad when I woke up in Seattle! What have you been dreaming about lately? Photos: a beautiful day riding horses into the Tombstones on assignment with @travelyukon! I’m clearly ready to go back! #travelyukon #exploremore

[sponsored] I woke with a start at 3:31 am this morning, jarred awake by a loud crack of thunder over our camp. I peeked out of the tent and watched lightning strike uncomfortably close. Eyes still bleary, I roused the gals and we piled into the Jeep for safety. We watched as sheets of lightning and rain danced over the Tetons, then dozed off. Eventually the storm passed, and we were treated to a beautiful sunrise. As painful as the early wake up call was, I would do it again in an instant. Shoutout to our trust @jeep Wrangler Rubicon for keeping us safe in so many ways! #jeep #jeepambassador #optoutside

reneeroaming That mountain view 😍 Can’t beat the Tetons

Let’s talk about call outs. We’ve all seen them. Some of us have issued them. Some are written as invitations—asking a person or a group to join in answering a call for justice. Others as threats: conform to our message or face our wrath and the wrath of our followers and friends. I would be a hypocrite if I said I’ve never participated in call out culture. I have, and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about it.When is it right to issue a call out? Do we call out corporate entities or individuals? Self-described activists or every day Jodettes? What language do we use to do so? When we do so, are we holding space for the object of our ire to learn, or are we condemning them until they step up and act? Is it our job to hold space, or is that best left to another?I don’t have answers to these questions. But I do know that lately I’ve seen folks lash out at one another in a manner aimed at isolating and shaming and I worry that this cannibalistic behavior is both a distraction from deeper issues and a detriment to the causes we all care so deeply about. I would sincerely love to hear your thoughts.

#sponsored Our road trip with @jeep was full of adventure. From close encounters with bears to hours spent huddled in the safety of the car hiding from lightning, we packed in a whole lot of fun. More than that, it was full of connection. I went into the trip knowing all the ladies, but they were strangers to each other. As the days wore on, we grew new bonds of friendship and nothing makes me happier than seeing people I love come to love and respect each other. That element of human connection is the icing on the cake for me every time! What’s your favorite part about road trips? #jeepambassador #jeep #sheisnotlost
