Suan Kachamudee / Sicart & Smith Architects Kachamudee project is an unique “boutique” resort located on the East Coast of Koh Samui Island in Chaweng Noi, Thailand. The project is located on a hill with a breath-taking view and with very strong constraints: a slope over 50%, large and numerous granite rocks, and lush vegetation.  The main idea was to create a contrast between the buildings and the rocks. The buildings are irregular sharp white blocks lay on the luxuriant landscape in contrast with the existing massive round black granite stones. These white blocks are split in various units, distributed a long the slope of the site, minimizing the density perception, and adjusting their location to the existing granite rocks, as well to preserve the existing vegetation. Besides, the design of the white shell is not a simple game of shape. They are a shell that has been studied carefully in regards to the solar protection under tropical climate. #architecture #design #interiordesign #art #travel #photography #architecturephotography #interior #home #architect #ig #building #archilovers #instagood #homedecor #arquitectura #photooftheday #city #architecturelovers #nature #decor #travelphotography #construction #landscape

Ciudad de las artes y las ciencias’ (the city of arts and science) designed by Santiago Calatrava. The Valencia Opera House is meant to serve as both a major performing arts facility for Valencia and as a dynamic urban landmark, helping to consolidate and animate the area in which it is built. In recognition of the civic importance of the Opera House, Calatrava gave the building the iconographic character of a monumental sculpture. In form, the building is a series of apparently random volumes, which become unified through their enclosure within two symmetrical, cut-away concrete shells. These forms are crowned by a sweeping steel sheath, which projects axially from the entrance concourse out over the uppermost contours of the curvilinear envelope. #homedesign #beautiful #house #realestate #o #italy #interiors #instagram #archdaily #summer #photo #history #urban #europe #furniture #architettura #streetphotography #travelgram #style #street #decoration #bhfyp #sky #interiordesigner #inspiration #modern #lifestyle #architects #a #instatravel

Aero Hive designed by Suraksha Acharya of Midori Architects First Prize winner of SKYHIVE Skyscraper Challenge, The Aero Hivehas designed by Suraksha Acharya of Midori Architectswhich is located at Kai Tak area of Kowloon, Hong Kong. Aero Hive is a breathing entity. The breath of this building transpires through vertical diaphragms in the form of green sky atriums that behave as lungs, performing the intake of oxygen and removal of carbon dioxide. This exchange is a way of natural ventilation and is the preferred option when attempting to deliver fresh air to any space due to its low energy requirements. The wind flow to the indoor spaces is carried using wind-scooping and the ‘venturi’ effect through the traversing green diaphragms that are oriented facing prevailing winds. Aerodynamic architectural design is realized by taking into consideration building orientation, position, form, and plan variations. An algorithmic process of design has been followed by creating a differentiated array of a hexagonal floor plates that variably changes scale based on environmental criteria, functional aspects, structural logics and aesthetic parameters. Parametric modeling and computational simualtions, namely, solar insolation and CFD analysis were carried out to verify the climatic effects of twisting geometries. Key to these forms of adaptation is the relationship of the building to their environment and the contextual forces that shape the form development and environmental behavior. #architecture #design #art #photography #travel #interiordesign #instagood #city #photooftheday #architecturephotography #sky #building #love #interior #ig #nature #beautiful #landscape #home #picoftheday #architect #archilovers #photo #arquitectura #travelphotography #luxury #architecturelovers #homedecor #style #bhfyp

The heart of Malta by Svetozar Andreev It is a polygonal architectural form with mirrored steel faces, which will blend into the landscape, and have the same size and proportions as the original limestone arch. Within this form we have designed over 5,000 square meters of exhibition space laid out over five spiral floors, with a dynamic laser show in which each spiral step represents one thousand years of Maltese history. #architecture #design #art #photography #travel #interiordesign #instagood #city #photooftheday #architecturephotography #sky #building #love #interior #ig #nature #beautiful #landscape #home #picoftheday #architect #archilovers #photo #arquitectura #travelphotography #luxury #architecturelovers #homedecor #style #bhfyp

Montreal Biosphere / Buckminster Fuller Architects have never enjoyed a position of such supreme prominence as they did in the worldview of Buckminster “Bucky” Fuller. To him, architects alone were capable of understanding and navigating the complex interrelationships of society, technology, and environment as viewed through the comprehensive paradigm of systems theory. #architecture #travel #art #sky #design #photography #photooftheday #love #city #interiordesign #instagood #nature #bnw #architecturephotography #ig #building #beautiful #landscape #picoftheday #photo #archilovers #architect #instatravel #like #arquitectura #street #luxury #home #interior #bhfyp

Gehry s Dancing House The building is an example of deconstructivist architecture, with an unusual shape. It reflects a woman and man (Ginger Rogers and Fred Astair) dancing together. Construction is from 99 concrete panels each of different shape and dimension, each, therefore, requiring a unique wooden form. #architecture #travel #art #sky #design #photography #photooftheday #love #city #interiordesign #instagood #nature #bnw #architecturephotography #ig #building #beautiful #landscape #picoftheday #photo #archilovers #architect #instatravel #like #arquitectura #street #luxury #home #interior #bhfyp

US-based firm Kohn Pedersen Fox has envisioned a new district in Tokyo that includes a mile-high skyscraper and infrastructure elements that will protect the city from natural disasters. Called Next Tokyo 2045, the conceptual plan was featured in the Japanese documentary series Next World and was recently published as a research paper by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats.Billed as a megacity adapted to climate change, the district would accommodate half a million residents and would be built on "resilient infrastructure". The development aims to help protect low-elevation areas in the Tokyo metropolis from rising sea levels, earthquakes and typhoons. It would accomplish this through various infrastructural elements, including faceted breakwater bars and operable floodgates. The plan also features hexagonal rings ranging from 150 to 1,500 metres in width that will lessen the strength of waves while still allowing for the passage of ships. #architecture #design #travel #art #city #photography #building #nature #photooftheday #instagood #beautiful #travelgram #instatravel #architecturelovers #interiordesign #architecturephotography #picoftheday #india #photo #street #style #buildings #urban #love #wanderlust #interior #architect #explore #like #bhfyp

Japanese timber company Sumitomo Forestry has revealed plans for the world's tallest wooden building in Tokyo, a 350-metre skyscraper that would also be the country's highest. Sumitomo Forestry is proposing the 70-storey hybrid timber skyscraper to mark the company's 350th anniversary in 2041. Named W350, the ambitious tower would be almost four times higher than the world's current tallest timber building – the 18-storey Brock Commons Student Residence in Vancouver, Canada. At 350 metres, the skyscraper designed by Sumitomo's Tsukuba Research Laboratory in collaboration with Tokyo practice Nikken Sekkei, would also become Japan's tallest building. #architecture #design #travel #art #city #photography #building #nature #photooftheday #instagood #beautiful #travelgram #instatravel #architecturelovers #interiordesign #architecturephotography #picoftheday #india #photo #street #style #buildings #urban #love #wanderlust #interior #architect #explore #like #bhfyp
