Back to Regular Posture Programming🚶‍♀️: Here’s another anti-neck hump jam that I’ve been working into my personal practice these days. It’s a windmill active stretch for the front of the shoulders and chest, and it is SO SATISFYING for shoulder mobility if you’ve got any sort of chest tightness or forward shoulder posture issues (and if you have forward head, kyphosis, or any sort if hunchback or neck hump problems, chances are good that you might). The first slide is the full expression of the exercise; slide 2 are some stretch variations, which I like to do after the windmill. Slides 3 and 4 are peelbacks, or options that you can use instead (or as a warmup) anytime the windmill just isn’t working for you. If you need a little more oomph out of this, try it lying lengthwise on a 3-foot/meter-long foam roller (my personal favorite). 1️⃣ WINDMILL ARMS 2️⃣ Y and T STRETCHES (OPTIONAL PEELBACKS): 3️⃣ SINGLE ARM OVERHEAD REACH 4️⃣ OPPOSITE ALTERNATING ARM REACH Interested in more posture and spine health content? Please follow me for many more stretches and strengthening exercises. I teach virtual Pilates mat classes every Saturday at 12:30pm ET (link in my bio).
